ACLB AWARDS PROGRAM / 2008 þ OUTSTANDING TRUSTEE OF THE YEAR:Recognizes the outstanding past and/or current contribution of service to the public library by a trustee.
þ CITATION OF DISTINGUISHED CONTRIBUTION TOWARDSLIBRARY DEVELOPMENT AND SERVICES: Recognizes the past and/or current contribution towards the development and services for the public by librarians, trustee, Friends of the Library, volunteer, library staff member, or member of the public.
þ AWARD OF APPRECIATION:Recognizes the past and/or current contribution towards the fulfillment of the mission of the Association of Connecticut Library Boards and/or a distinguished contribution to the library community.
þ AWARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR SMALL LIBRARIES:Recognizes a public library serving a community with a population of 10,000 or less that demonstrates excellence of service to its users as exemplified by (a) An overall program, or (b) a special program of significant accomplishment.
þ BENEFACTOR’S HONOR AWARD:Recognizes individuals, families and/or corporate bodies who have made major benefactions to public libraries. The significance of the award will be measured from the point of view of the recipient library rather than by the size of the gift alone.
